TRIP INTO JAPAN.
Art & Architecture

Hello polar bear! What art you can meet when are here?

Tokyo Opera City

I’m not a opera person but this time, have been to art gallery belongs to Tokyo Opera City. This is the first time to me to go there so I was bit self-conscious about opera atmosphere. Turns out once when I got there it was quite comfortable actually even to people who is not used to formal air like me(actually gallery itself is more normal than formal I would say). This time’s theme of gallery was focusing on Japanese interior designer “Masamichi Katayama” and at this exhibition, almost all his collection on his office were moved to this gallery for this exhibition as what makes him to be creative. There are quite interesting stuffs were installed and appeared. Let’s see how it was.

Tokyo Opera City

Right after step into gallery there was many package boxes seems to be used to carry in. It was just aligned and stacked wood with coarse texture, but somehow looks cool..

Tokyo Opera City

Right after I handed over my ticket to receptionist and entered, one video was playing about Masamichi Katayama’s office. His work space was explained by in person over this video that is actually displayed on this exhibition..

Tokyo Opera City

Both walls are covered with thousand of books and CDs that collected by supervision.

Tokyo Opera City

At the end of path, Ronald McDonald’s statue leads me to next section…seems it also part of his collection.

Tokyo Opera City

His collection doesn’t stick with “type” so it cross all type of art such as picture, painting, sculpture and so on.

Tokyo Opera City

Taiji Matsue’s works also collected by. I like the fact that his video collection was the best over this exhibition.

Tokyo Opera City

Kaws and Snoopy. Variety of art works welcomed me next to next.

Tokyo Opera City

I walked through several rooms and every room had different taste.

Tokyo Opera City

Taking picture with ticket is must because it must become unforgettable memory as always.

Tokyo Opera City

As I wrote down, this gallery is part of building for stage of opera so that architecture isn’t unique to be honest anyway.

Tokyo Opera City

I love blue. Summer is around the corner.

I’ve never seen Opera concert so coming to there even though just taking action itself was definitely bit away from my daily life. However certainly part of air was sort of formal but other was nothing difference from where I’ve ever been. You would feel the same depending on theme though because this gallery hold variety of featured exhibition so better to check beforehand what theme is going. This time was related to interior designer by chance and it lured me haha.
