When walking around in Tokyo, sometimes you may get lost way. It happens and it is trip I think, and IF it is Ginza area where famous for shopping, why don’t you look for creation gallery g8 while you’re at it! haha. Every feature exhibition at this gallery conveys to us quality design organized by proven designer. I’ll tell you about in this article. The theme of this time was “graphic & textile”. I’m not familiar with textile but it was eye candy. By the way there is another creation gallery a few minutes away called “guardian garden” where used for future designer’s “dream place” to grow up in the field of design.
Looking over the gallery space. This isn’t all of works, just partial room you can see from outside. A staff on-site in this exhibition and according to them this exhibition doesn’t offer a brochure in English unfortunately. But she said you can check it at our website which has English version.
Many mannequins put on cloth with graphical printing work. I found myself stared at…
Keep moving to next room. Many graphic design with well designed wooden frame. I like this type of experimental layout to show graphic design. I would say this space can be main area of this theme to me!
Where I reached the deepest room. There are many clothes are hanged with variety of painting. One is covered vivid color and another one has sentence in good typeface. Each of them made layer to be displayed and it made me more curious what I can see next as standing there.
This featured exhibition was held by mintdesigns. According to their web page, their concept to work on is “timeless product and not limited to the category of fashion.” I like this word “timeless product”. If I take their style, my fashion would dramatically change to be cutting edge! lol.
Clear blue is best match to art life! Good day!
First time I heard “G8”, I was curious what does it mean or what brought this name? Then thought such as “display only 8 works” every time and so on… However all of my thoughts were totally way off. The truth is …. Just coming from street address lol. Anyway if you would like to touch one of representative design work of Japan, this gallery won’t go wrong!
