The Mori Art Museum where exhibition purpose museum in Roppongi. You might have heard that roppongi is art oriented place but not only for it actually. Every summer Ropongi art night is held and there is public art everywhere that I touched at the end of this article.
At this time I’ll tell you this museum along with exhibition of Takashi Murakami’s work that was hold when I went. Before forgot I would like to tell you that this museum locates 52 floor in Mori building so I wrote “SKY MUSEUM”. Let’s take a look.
How its facade look like? Unlike other museum standing on ground, this museum doesn’t lead us to entrance within a couple of steps because it’s locating 52 floor as I said. First you need to take stair (or elevator) to get main elevator hole.
Beautiful blue sky jumped into my eye over huge glass wall. A couple of ads flags were hanging down that now on displayed at museum space.
After stair, I walked through pedestrian deck, it was about 20m maybe.
View of ticket counter. A couple of exhibitions were going on in the 52 floor.
I got a ticket for exhibition of Takashi Murakami. It was 1600yen by the way.
Took picture right in front of entrance after got out of elevator in 52 floor. You can see museum gate at the end of escalator behind me.
Gate of exhibition. Takashi murakami’s exhibition was quite eccentric that there was statue of him at gate of his work with moving eye and strange voice sounds. How do I say..
Both side walls are filled with his paintings from the first space.
Large space popped up in front of me with large paintings on both walls. Mori Art Museum is dedicated for exhibition space so it will turn another space depending on what is held.
Red and blue demon on walls. Exploding his mind for his theme.
I stepped one more front to take picture closely. Umm detail also well drawn even to the untrained eye.
The most standing out painting on this exhibition.
There is English description on, right below Japanese. This description style is very common in most museum so you can take advantage of it and get how did it born and so on.
Simple three paintings. At first I thought middle one was just a white canvas but actually many white small skulls on it.
I couldn’t get what these were but some people seemed feeling something as seeing.
There were two contrasting paintings side by side. Right side one is just black?
Turns out, It wasn’t just black. The difference was how to color them means base layout was the same. I think it would take long time to get art…
Yeah, nice weather. If you go to the roof top of this building, light blue sky with great view make you happy.
Roppongi is quite famous place for nightlife however famous for art at the same time. It is not far away from Shibuya rather close. It doesn’t have to transfer if you use bus from Shibuya station moreover cheaper than train actually. In Mori Art Museum I think interesting exhibition is often open so worth to check in advance at Mori Art Museum before coming over to Japan.
