TRIP INTO JAPAN.

Do you like typography, typeface and graphic? This gallery was founded by massive printing company related strongly with graphic design in Japan. Every month bunch of typography design will be collected from Japan or overseas then displayed for a month and switched to new one again and again. Regardless of when you are in Japan, once you drop in, your eyes will grab cool printing design. Another aspect that I have to tell you is even this gallery located in Ginza, you will be amazed once you enter this gallery because silent covers your ears.

Just walked down and turn the corner from the main street in Ginza this gallery pops up. Possibly you can be lost on the way to the gallery but try to find facade that has partial glass and 2 flags on the wall. The space for this gallery is made up of 2nd floor, base floor and basement floor then you can move by either stair or elevator. The theme of this month was “Tokyo Type Directors Club Exhibition 2016”.

Here you are! This is a poster for this month’s theme. Also it’s used for brochure too.

This sign you can see right after enter the glass door “ggg” stands for “Ginza Graphic Gallery”. I wish I had taken a picture in this gallery but isn’t allowed so I’ll put some picture on brochure..

The following 3 images are gallery image from brochure….bit different from when I was there but you can get the atmosphere. Every arranging space is totally depending on theme. There is archives room with touchable device like iPad to look up what was held in gallery. I used that device following my curiosity then although this was the first time I was there but I got kind of regret I should have been here early.

Next up is I’ll tell you some works that displayed when I was there. I brought these works from brochure as well. As I told you this gallery is specialized in “Typography and Graphics” this time’s works are also along with it and all works was the result of the Tokyo TDC Annual Awards 2016. This exhibition featured more than 150 typographical works.

By the way I found interesting shops right behind of this garally named MMM. I points out the location with white big arrow on the photo above. That shop has bunch of goods that sold in famous world museum. Yes import art souvenir shop it is.

The facade of MMM. It was quite standing out and your eyes wouldn’t be lost this red color. There are 3 floors and you’ll have to take small elevator to go up and down between them. If you have time this shop is also good one to go.

I know and I heard Ginza is known as a shopping place however I would like to put my voice on that opinion like there is good cool gallery just you saw through above. Moreover the reason you shouldn’t stay away from this museum is the fact that..ADMISSION FREE! Not but right? If you don’t know where is Ginza, don’t worry it is just next to Tokyo station! In many points I think “ggg” is good one. You will be inspired :)
