How about Japanese sweets in louver box

Kuriya kashi Kurogi

When I saw this shape focusing on louver, it reminds me of architect who familiar with louver. Kuriya kashi Kurogi is designed by Kengo Kuma for Japanese sweets cafe (wagashi cafe). Since this is located on Tokyo University’s campus, it includes facilities for it. Let’s take a look.

Looked up in front of louver. Tons of portions are made of wood that covers glass wall. Also it is installed with step each other.

One step more closely allows the wood grain to show. You can see the not same level of each bottom.

Turn around to enter the cafe. Several seats set outside and inside I saw over glass. I choose inside because of summer.. way high temperature at that time.

Checking up display while waiting for my turn to order.

After having tea, I turned around again before leaving. The contrast and diagonal line between black wall and louver are clean that I like.

Yeah, Today’s air under the blue sky give me feeling fall is in the air.

Easy to access from the station if you in Tokyo on the other hand, might take time to find there because of locating on Tokyo University’s campus. And will be crowded… Anyway, it would be great experience that having Japanese sweets in the notable architect in Japan.
