Piling up small boxes with history

Nakagin capsule tower

Small box with one eye piles up a bunch of times turns into one united architecture. This building is way unique for locating this area. You see the difference comparing to others in a second. Nakagin capsule tower is famous for a couple of reasons such as awards architecture Kisho Kurokawa designed and having powerful concept that each room is actually detachable! Let’s look around.

Nakagin capsule tower

Looking up at the top. You see there is retellary installed the box one after another from a different direction. Each box has function for living that means you can rent if you wish. Said that no wondering if this building will be gone someday soon due to getting old for unique structure. Some people who want to preserve the building with history to announce for rent on the web. Its temporary open maybe tho.

Took pictures over street. Entire figure from top to bottom, what you feel after going through it. Maybe someone tells it old fashioned but others may say not. The point is I still feel kind of mordan for building in this era even though it’s born about 50yeas ago. can you believe? I won’t doubt if it came from feature haha.

Close up to Sign. let’s see the font face. I don’t say modern sign to say the most, but it talks about their background.

Nakagin capsule tower

Glanced at the gate because I intended to get inside. However my will went away in a second after watching notice on the door… “Authorized Personnel Only” as I thought. I think the reason behind this is since this architecture is quite famous among architecture person so no wonder someone try to trespass on property. If you were there, do you want to take a look inside, don’t you? Try search with this keyword “nakagin capsule tower” or “中銀カプセルタワー”. You may find many images of interior that I couldn’t take. It’s the easiest way to refract interior on your screen.

You know this building is absolutely old, passed over many years and still getting rusty, especially in structure for sure. So there is potential critical point where will be found in the future. If you want to say hello to this architecture, I would recommend going there before too late. You know what I mean? You may not be able to meet architecture which has a unique identity.
