When you saw this lump of white for the first time, I think you did a double take like I did. The outline against the sky is very smooth, moreover it doesn't consist of only a single curve. You can recognize it is made from 2 hemispheres at least for now.
Hoto Fudo Higashi koiji branch where I wanted to go for a long time because of that’s shape. Let’s see how you feel.
To take another picture, I walked around and found that it’s similar to cocoons. Or how to tell you this shape haha. By the way, the mountain in the picture(right side) is Mt.Fuji (The highest mountain in Japan).
For the sake of someone who wants to check more closely, this is it. Can you guess the finishing material? I’m not a specialist so can’t tho…
Moving toward the front. Actually I don’t know which facade is “front” but when I found the noren curtain, I bet this is the entrance. Some people's existence tells how big this architecture is. Next is.. time to step in.
If you look back, stepping into the gate, noren curtain is blowing in the wind. It aroused my interest in what inside looks like.. Hope good one.
This is it. The wall line turns ceiling without joint and wall light tells how smooth it is. It looks like a cave..
Taking a seat anyway… I was feeling this atmosphere for a while.
When you look at the right side, even the door to the kitchen is designed. The width is wider to the bottom and connects to the floor.
Another shoot from inside to focus on the rounded windows. The form is along the outer wall perfectly. I didn’t pull or push but it seems heavy following the size.
Almost forgot, this architecture is a restaurant where you can order hoto (a kind of Japanese traditional noodle). I also had hoto at that time haha.
Interior done. So I came around behind to see the back facade. So... oh it didn’t let me down, or rather even the chimney is designed. Nice.
Good weather, good temperature and the blue sky are just awesome.
Maybe 3 years or more have passed since I found this architecture. My first impression was what is this for.. Is this possible to enter or can I take a picture from inside? However my concern was resolved right after googe it because it is a restaurant where you can order hoto noodles. I personally like noodles so there is no reason not to go. The location is a bit far from Tokyo, which means you will have to take a car to get there. If you have a plan to pass near Mt. Fuji, how about adding this location on your trip.
